North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester Spartans Women's Soccer team hosted Great Lakes Christian College on Wednesday, September 25.
The Spartans fell to the Crusaders 3-1 in the match up.

The Spartans got things started early when
Layla Huneck (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider) sent a long ball to
Lily DeTray (Oak Harbor, OH, Oak Harbor) who rifled a ball over the goalies head from outside the box for her first goal of the season. The Spartans would hold onto the lead tight until the last ten seconds of the first half when Great Lakes Christian would equalize.
The Crusaders would go on to score two more goals and seal the victory against the Spartans. Senior Goal keeper
Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos) finished the game with nine saves.
The Spartans will travel to Cincinnati, OH to take on Mount St. Joseph Saturday, September 28 for their first HCAC match up of the season.
