North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester University Women's Basketball Team hosted Berea College in a Saturday HCAC match up.
The Spartans stayed hot and defeated the Mountaineers in a thrilling over time match up.
Manchester 86, Berea 77
Berea got things started and took the early lead over the Spartans and holding that lead until early in the 2nd quarter. Manchester held the lead for three minutes but Berea came right back to take the lead, going into half up by six.  Berea kept a steady lead all though the 3rd and into the 4th, however Manchester would make their move with five minutes to spare and take the lead back. The Spartans and Mountaineers battled back and forth until Berea hit a game tying lay up with two seconds to go that would send the game to overtime.Â
Overtime was going just as the game was, back and forth, until Sophomore guard
Kinsey Atkins (Warsaw, Ind., Triton)Â hit a huge three to give the Spartans a four point lead and the momentum. After a couple of Berea technical fouls and some Spartan free throws, The Black and Gold would hang on to secure victory.
Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) led the game in scoring with 24 points as well as 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Kinsey Atkins knocked down two 3 pointers and added 2 steals, and
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) brought down 9 rebounds to go along with her 11 points.
The Spartans will travel to Anderson on January 15 for their next match up.Â
