Lexington, KY. - The Manchester University Men's and Women's Basketball teams traveled down to Lexington, KY. to compete against Transylvania in a weekend HCAC double-header.
The Pioneers took both games in their second match up of the season.

Manchester 50, Transylvania 69
In the first match up of the day the Womens team looked to sweep the Pioneers but would fall short in a 19 point loss.
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) recorded her 2nd double-double of the season recording a team high 17 points and 12 rebounds, Smith finished the day 6-11 from the field and 5-6 from the stripe.
The Women's team looks to bounce back as they host Rose-Hulman on January 22 in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

Manchester 65, Transylvania 70
In the final match up of the day the Manchester Spartan Men's team fell to the Pioneers in a close fight by five points. Three Spartans hit double figures in scoring with
Clay McCorkle (Converse, Ind, Oak Hill) leading the way with 20 , going 9-15 from the field and knocking down 2/3 three pointers.
Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) was not far behind with 18 points and also grabbing the team high 5 rebounds.
Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) kept his shooting hand hot as he scored 15 while going 3-6 from beyond the arc.
The Men's team will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. on January 22 to take on Rose-Hulman in a mid-week HCAC match up.Â
