Spartans Fall to Panthers

Hanover, Ind. - Hanover handed Manchester a tough 8–0 defeat on Saturday afternoon at the Hanover Soccer Complex, as the Spartans were unable to find their offensive footing against a relentless Panther attack.

Manchester managed just two total shots in the match, both coming in the second half, as Hanover's defense limited opportunities throughout. Midfielders Lily DeTray and Jameela Hydre Yusoff were credited with Manchester's only shot attempts.

Goalkeeper Reagan Claus shouldered a heavy workload early, recording six saves in 66 minutes of play before being relieved by Vicki Moorman, who added one save over the final 24 minutes. Together, the Spartan goalkeeping duo faced 22 shots from the Panthers, including 16 on goal.

Defensively, Sian Rogers, Jameela Hydre Yusoff, and Madison Dunlop anchored the back line and logged heavy minutes. Hanover struck first in the 29th minute and carried a 1–0 lead into halftime before erupting for seven goals after the break. Despite the scoreline, Manchester showed flashes of improvement in organization and spacing, particularly in the second half when the Spartans generated both of their shot attempts.

The Spartans will look to regroup as they hit the road for their next HCAC contest, aiming to build upon their defensive stretches and regain attacking rhythm.
