Hanover, Ind. - Manchester men's soccer fell 3-0 on the road to Hanover on Saturday afternoon, as the Spartans were unable to overcome a strong performance from the HCAC-leading Panthers. Hanover scored twice in the first half and added a third early in the second to secure the win at the Hanover Soccer Complex.
Manchester's defense was under pressure for much of the match, with goalkeeper Will Martin standing out between the posts. Martin faced 21 total shots and made eight saves—two in the first half and six after the break—to help limit further damage. Despite the steady defensive effort, the Spartans couldn't find a spark offensively and finished without a shot in the contest.
Defenders Cole Spagna and Christian Munos logged full 90-minute efforts, while Admasu Mitchell and others contributed to the back line's resistance against a relentless Hanover attack. Manchester generated two first-half corner kicks but was unable to convert them into scoring opportunities.
The loss dropped Manchester to 3-7-4 overall and 2-3-1 in HCAC play.
