Spartans Fall to Hanover

Hanover, Ind. - Manchester fell to Hanover on the road Saturday, 76–7, in HCAC play.

Hanover jumped out to an early lead, scoring 35 points in the opening quarter and adding 21 more before halftime to put the game out of reach. Manchester's lone touchdown came in the third quarter when senior quarterback Kaleb Hall connected with tight end Ethan Skinner for a 24-yard score — the Spartans' only red-zone trip of the day. Freshman kicker Grant Ridgway added the extra point to complete the drive.

Offensively, the Spartans finished with 173 passing yards and 127 total yards, struggling to find consistency against Hanover's defense, which tallied five sacks. Hall went 18-for-41 through the air, while Skinner led the receiving corps with five catches for 67 yards and the team's lone touchdown. Levarian Campbell also contributed five receptions for 41 yards, and James Lewis added 26 yards on three catches.

On special teams, freshman Jaydon Berkley sparked field position gains with 100 kick return yards, and Skinner added another return for eight. Punter Angel Estrada racked up 11 punts, averaging 38.7 yards, including a long of 58.

Defensively, Shane Hagen led Manchester with seven total tackles, while Rashawn Williams added six stops and a tackle for loss. Ziare Sullivan and Talen Garner each recorded sacks for the Spartans, contributing to Manchester's four tackles for loss on the day.

Manchester (0-7, 0-3 HCAC) will look to regroup next weekend as they return home.
