Spartans Drop Season Finale

North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester Men's Soccer closed its 2025 season with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Rose-Hulman on Wednesday night at Spartan Stadium.

The Spartans showed grit and defensive structure throughout the match, holding the visiting Engineers to a single first-half goal despite a heavy shot disadvantage (13-5 overall). Rose-Hulman's lone score came in the 45th minute, when Oliver Fila finished a pass from Jacob Pohl just before halftime.

Manchester generated a handful of attacking moments, with shots from Nevio T. Muchada, Ean Jones, Alan Galvez, Nick Merrion, and Cole Spagna. Galvez produced the Spartans' only shot on goal midway through the second half, forcing a save from Rose-Hulman keeper Justin Burns.

Goalkeeper Will Martin kept Manchester within striking distance through the first 79 minutes, recording one save before being relieved by Peter Myers and Edvin Rodriguez, who combined for three more stops. The Spartans' back line—anchored by Aiden Bryant, Grant Gerber, and Marcel Cuahuizo Gutierrez—limited Rose-Hulman to mostly long-range looks in open play.

Despite pushing numbers forward late, Manchester couldn't find the equalizer. The Spartans closed the match with four second-half shots and a final 5-13 deficit overall, while both teams combined for few fouls in an otherwise disciplined contest.

The loss dropped Manchester to 3-10-4 overall and 2-6-1 in HCAC play, but the defensive effort and competitive balance reflected a resilient close to the season.
