North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester women's soccer returned to Good Field on Saturday afternoon for a conference matchup against Transylvania but was unable to find the back of the net, falling 3–0 after a second-half surge from the visiting Pioneers.Â
The Spartans held strong through a tightly contested opening half, limiting Transylvania to seven shots while goalkeeper Reagan Claus came up big with three saves to keep the match level at 0–0 heading into halftime. Manchester's back line, anchored by Bella Flores, Sian Rogers, and Jameela Hydre Yusoff, absorbed consistent pressure while maintaining structure and discipline. Offensively, Layla Huneck generated the Spartans' lone first-half shot, forcing a save from Transylvania's keeper in the 15th minute.
The Pioneers broke the deadlock early in the second, finding the net in the 55th minute, then quickly doubled the lead four minutes later with another strike to make it 2–0. Transylvania added a third goal in the 63rd minute, sealing the result. Despite the scoreline, Claus continued to stand out in net for Manchester, recording seven second-half saves and finishing with 10 total stops on the day.
Manchester managed two total shots—one on target—coming from Huneck and Lily DeTray. The midfield group of Erin Grant, Delaney Kelly, and Imari Francis worked tirelessly to disrupt the Pioneers' rhythm, while defenders Flores, Rogers, and Hydre Yusoff logged heavy minutes under pressure. Claus's 10-save performance was a bright spot in a match where Manchester was outshot 24–2 but continued to show resilience defensively.Â
Manchester looks to bounce back this Wednesday as they host Anderson at Good Field.Â
