Spartans Cap Off 2025 Season in HCAC Quarterfinals

Manchester ended its 2025 volleyball campaign on the road at Hanover, dropping sets 11–25, 14–25, 25–22, and 15–25.

The Spartans struggled to settle in early as Hanover controlled the first two sets with strong serving and efficient attacking. Manchester's offense couldn't fully stabilize in the opening frames, posting low hitting percentages while Hanover used long scoring runs to build early separation.

The Spartans' best stretch came in the third set, where they produced their most balanced play of the night. Manchester finished with 15 kills, 4 aces, and 2 blocks in the frame, battling through multiple ties and lead changes. Steadier passing allowed Morgan Howard, Mariah Forbes, and Tiffany Watterson to open up the offense. Avery Ball, Kyana Martinez, Maddi Smith, and Lily Lichtenbarger all contributed key kills as Manchester took the set 25–22 to extend the match.

Hanover, however, regained momentum immediately in the fourth set with an early run that forced Manchester into catch-up mode. Despite MU's improved blocking and continued defensive effort—highlighted by Watterson's team-leading dig total—Hanover's consistency at the net and from the service line carried them to a 25–15 win to close the night.

Manchester finished with 39 kills, 70 digs, 6 aces, and 5 total blocks, showing resilience after the tough opening sets. A strong third-set performance demonstrated the team's ability to respond and compete, though Hanover's efficiency over the full match ultimately determined the outcome.
