North Manchester, Ind, - The Manchester University Men's Basketball team hosted Mount St. Joseph University this past weekend in a HCAC match up.

The Lions would take the victory after a last second lay up that would give them the lead by one.

Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) became the eighth Manchester Basketball member to surpass 1,500 career points after his efforts on Saturday, he now stands at 1,514 and looks to climb even higher.

The game started off as back and forth however MSJ would hold a consistent lead throughout, in the second half with the Spartans down one, Clay McCorkle (Converse, Ind, Oak Hill) would get a steal that led to a Bryant Smith basket with 10 seconds remaining. The Lions drove down the court and after missing their first attempt, would put up the game winning shot to win by one.

Bryant Smith led the game with 23 points, Clay McCorkle was not far behind, having an outstanding game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and shooting 64% from the field.Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) led the Spartans in rebounds with 7.

Manchester's next match up will be away at Anderson University on February 5.
