Spartans Compete at Indiana D3 Championships; Camp Named Field Athlete MVP

Greencastle, Ind. – The Manchester University Men's and Women's track team traveled to DePauw University to compete in the Indiana DIII Championship. There were finally some good conditions, and the Spartans took advantage of that.
 

Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) won the Women's field MVP for the meet with all performance in the hammer, shot and discus. Carley finished 1st in every throw event this weekend. In shot, 13.10m, in the Hammer Throw 52.03m, and in Discus Throw 41.40m. Carley's hammer throw places her at 10th in the nation for Division III.

Top Performers:

Chesnee Miller (Akron, Ind., Tippecanoe Valley) finishes 2nd in the 800m race with a time of 2:19.83. This places her 4th all time in Manchester history. She also finished 3rd in the 1500m race with a time of 4:47.24 and this is 6th all time in Manchester history.

The women's 4x100m team of Irma Robles (Wabash, Ind., Wabash), Jay'ana Blakely (Westville, Ind., Marquette Catholic), Anna Jozsa (Cicero, Ind., Hamilton Heights), and Coco Truelove (Albion, Ind., Central Noble) finished third in their heat with a time of 52.17.

Madysen Rees (Middletown, Ind., Liberty Christian) finished 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 34.65m.

Zach Hood (Elwood, Ind., Elwood) ran the 10000m race this weekend with a time of 33:35.93 and this was first in his heat. Second was followed by his teammate Brayden Stamm with a time of 34:43.85.

Gavin Byerly (Huntington, Ind., Huntington North) finished 2nd in his heat in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:38.64.

Kenneth Redd Jr. (Dayton, Ohio, Hillwood) finished first in the high jump with a jump of 1.88m.

Gentry Oliver (Lafayette, Ind., McCutcheon) finished 1st in the long jump with a jump of 6.70m. Gentry also had great performances in the 100m and 200m as well.

Kobi Martindale (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) finished 1st in the Men's Hammer Throw with a throw of 50.17m.

The Spartans are traveling to Ada, Ohio to Ohio Northern University on April 18/19 to compete and get fined tuned before the HCAC Championships on April 26..
