Wabash, Ind. - The Wabash County Museum hosted the inaugural Wabash County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, August 2, thus inducting two Manchester University Hall of Famers.
On Saturday, the Wabash County Sports Hall of Fame welcomed its inaugural class which saw Carl W. Burt and Robin Gratz solidify their places in Wabash County sports history. Carl W. Burt, the "Father of Manchester Football", coached the Spartan Football Program from 1925-1942 while also coaching Manchester Baseball, for seven years, and Track & Field for six years. Carl W. Burt was inducted into the Manchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 1994. Robin Gratz was a stand out multi-sport athlete at Manchester in both Football and Track & Field, racking up numerous accolades in both. Robin Gratz was inducted into the Manchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995. Carl W. Burt was selected from the Pioneer Era (1860-1920) while Robin Gratz was selected from the Contemporary Era (1951-2000).
Both inductees were honored with plaques at the ceremony on Saturday.
