North Manchester, Ind. — Manchester University Athletics will host the 37th Annual Friends of Manchester Golf Outing on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Bridgewater Golf Club in Auburn, Indiana, continuing a tradition that has supported Spartan student-athletes for more than three decades.
Founded in 1990 through the vision of Ken Metzger '67 and Til '47 and Dortha Martz '47 King, the Friends of Manchester Golf Outing has grown into one of the university's premier athletic fundraising events. Since its inception, the outing has generated more than $1 million in total contributions, providing meaningful enhancements to the Manchester University student-athlete experience and helping build strong programs and championship teams.
The event will feature a Florida scramble format with four-person teams and is limited to the first 144 paid golfers. Registration opens at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Participants will enjoy greens fees, cart, meals, on-course refreshments, and a pop-up lunch station at the turn. The day concludes with awards, light food, happy hour, and closing remarks at 3 p.m. from Manchester University Director of Athletics Rick Espeset.
Golfers may register individually or as part of a team, with multiple participation options available, including foursomes, threesomes, twosomes, and individual entries. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available, ranging from Bronze to Platinum levels, each offering recognition through custom signage, event program mentions, and acknowledgments during the closing ceremony. Sponsorships provide direct support to Manchester University Athletics while offering increased visibility during the outing.
All proceeds from the Friends of Manchester Golf Outing directly support Spartan student-athletes and the continued growth of Manchester University athletic programs. Registration fees, less benefits, are tax deductible when paid directly to Manchester University.
Mail-in registration forms and payments must be received by June 5, 2026.
