Spartans Come Up Short in Crawfordsville

Crawfordsville, Ind. - Manchester fell 2–1 on the road against Wabash on Sunday afternoon at Fischer Field. Despite an early two-goal deficit, the Spartans showed resilience and battled back but couldn't find the equalizer.

Wabash struck quickly with goals in the 7th and 10th minutes, forcing Manchester into an uphill climb. The Spartans responded midway through the first half when Chris Wilson came off the bench and buried his first goal of the season in the 34th minute, trimming the deficit to 2–1.

From there, Manchester relied heavily on goalkeeper Aaron Ketchmark, who kept them in the match with eight saves—six coming in the second half as Wabash piled on the pressure.

Offensively, the Spartans managed just five total shots, four of them on frame, but were unable to solve Wabash keeper Ansel Rincon in the second half. Key efforts came from Aiden Bryant, Kole Williams, and Christian Gearheart, each testing the keeper, but none could break through.

With the result, Manchester drops to 0-1-1 on the season, still seeking its first win. The Spartans will look to build on the momentum of Wilson's spark and Ketchmark's strong showing in goal as they head into their next contest.

Manchester returns to the pitch Wednesday, September 3rd with a home match against Alma. 7:30 PM start.
