North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester Women's Basketball put together one of its most complete efforts of the season Wednesday night at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena, rolling past Bluffton 65-38 in HCAC play.
The Spartans set the tone early with an aggressive, downhill attack and active hands defensively. Manchester led 18-14 after one quarter, then squeezed the game open by holding Bluffton to just eight points in the second to take a 33-22 halftime lead. The separation only grew after the break as the Spartans drilled four threes in the third quarter and outscored the Beavers 19-8 to push the margin to 52-30 heading into the fourth.
Abi Rosenkrans powered the offense with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting while adding seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Hannah Holmes provided a strong interior presence with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting and six rebounds. Kayla Gibbs and Clair Klinger each scored eight, with both guards knocking down two triples as Manchester finished 6-of-21 from deep.
Defense and transition were the difference all night. Manchester forced 24 Bluffton turnovers, turning them into 20 points, and recorded 10 steals while limiting the Beavers to 13-of-52 shooting (including 1-of-12 from three). The Spartans also controlled the glass 43-38 and produced 18 fast-break points in a pace-setting performance at home.
