North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester Men's Basketball dropped an 89-82 HCAC decision to Franklin on Wednesday night at Stauffer Wolfe Arena. The Spartans came out firing and carried a 46-39 lead into halftime behind a blistering 11-for-18 shooting from three in the opening 20 minutes, but Franklin flipped the game after the break by attacking the paint and the glass on the way to a 50-point second half.
Ty Lynas powered Manchester with 24 points, knocking down five triples and adding three assists, while
Ladarius Wallace caught fire from deep as well, drilling 5-of-8 from three for 15 points.
Max Robertson added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, and
Clay McCorkle chipped in 14 points and a team-high five assists as the Spartans finished 15-for-32 from beyond the arc.
Manchester led by as many as 10 early in the second half (49-39), but Franklin answered with a surge that included multiple second-chance looks and transition baskets, eventually grabbing the lead at 50-49 and trading blows from there. The game was tied at 66-66 with under 10 minutes to play, but Franklin's late run—sparked by offensive rebounds, paint touches and timely free throws—created separation in the final minutes.
Logan Brace helped keep Manchester within striking distance with six points and six rebounds, and
Chris Hardy added six points off the bench.
Manchester's perimeter shooting kept it close all night, but Franklin's second-half physicality and rebounding proved to be the difference down the stretch.
