Mason Jones Earns National-Qualifier at Regionals

University Heights, OH -Manchester Men's Wrestling competed at the NCAA Division III Regionals on Saturday, hosted by John Carroll University, and turned in a strong showing highlighted by a national-qualifying performance from 125-pounder Mason Jones.

Jones put together an outstanding run at 125 pounds, finishing second overall with a 3-1 record and 21.5 team points. After opening with a bye, he powered through the bracket with a technical fall, followed by back-to-back falls to advance to the championship bout. Jones ultimately placed second to secure his qualification to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships.

Manchester also picked up solid efforts across the lineup. Adrian Origel battled to a seventh-place finish at 133 pounds, recording multiple falls during a strong consolation run. At 141 pounds, Michael Kallimani placed eighth after earning wins in both championship and consolation action.

Brody Arthur delivered a productive tournament at 149 pounds, placing seventh and scoring 12 team points with a pair of falls and a technical fall in the placement match. Mitchell Betz matched that output at 174 pounds, also finishing seventh with multiple bonus-point victories.

At 184 pounds, Ethan Risner worked through the consolation bracket to place eighth, collecting a fall and a major decision. Cameron Crisp added another key placement for the Spartans, finishing fifth at 197 pounds with several decisive wins, including a fall in the fifth-place match.

Rounding out the lineup, Ethan Skinner picked up a fall at 285 pounds, while Brian Barrett Jr. (157) and Garrett VonGunten (165) gained valuable postseason experience.

With Jones advancing to nationals and several wrestlers earning placement finishes, Manchester closed the regional tournament with momentum and a strong individual highlight as the postseason continues.
