North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester men's basketball went toe-to-toe early with HCAC contender Anderson (IN), but the Ravens' blistering second-half shooting pulled them away in an 87-75 league win Wednesday night at Stauffer Wolfe Arena.
The Spartans traded punches throughout a fast-paced first half and carried a 37-34 edge into the break behind strong ball movement (nine assists) and a balanced attack. Max Robertson set the tone with 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting while getting to the line (6-for-7), and Ty Lynas added 22 points and eight rebounds, drilling four triples. Clay McCorkle chipped in 13 points and a team-high six assists, and Ladarius Wallace directed the offense with five assists as Manchester finished with 18 assists on 27 field goals.
Anderson flipped the game with a scorching second half, hitting 19-of-33 from the floor and 8-of-17 from three after halftime to outscore Manchester 53-38. The Ravens knocked down 14 threes on the night and turned a tight contest into a double-digit margin during a mid-half surge. Manchester kept answering—getting threes from Lynas and Talan Boehler (six points on two triples) and attacking in transition (12 fast-break points)—but couldn't match Anderson's efficiency and work on the glass (45-33 rebounding edge). The Spartans finished 27-of-66 overall, 9-of-32 from deep, and 12-of-16 at the stripe, but Anderson's second-half barrage proved too much to overcome.
