Adam Wattenbarger will begin his second season as an assistant coach at Manchester in 2022. Coach Wattenbarger works with the Manchester quarterbacks.

During his first season with the Black & Gold, 10 different Spartans would earn All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition.

Wattenbarger came to North Manchester after coaching stops at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Alderson Broaddus in West Virginia.

While at UNC Pembroke, Wattenbarger worked with the Braves' tight ends and fullbacks. An alum of Alderson Broaddus, Wattenbarger served in a multitude of roles during his time as an assistant coach with the Battlers. He served as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator in 2019. He also had stints as the wide receivers coach (2018) and recruiting and video coordinator (2017-18) while at Alderson Broaddus.
 
Wattenbarger was a member of the Alderson Broaddus football program during its inaugural season in 2012. The quarterback and special teams mainstay played in 21 games for the Battlers over his three-year collegiate career, and served as the holder on field goal and point-after attempts for a majority of his last two seasons.
 
Wattenbarger earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Alderson Broaddus in 2016. He is pursuing his master’s degree in business administration in UNCP. Adam and his wife, Brittany, reside in Fort Wayne.
