Brad Higginson completed 12th year at Manchester in 2020-21. Higginson has been a key member of the Manchester Spartan defense for over a decade, serving as the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
Higginson has worked with a pair of All-Americans (Bracken Kennedy, 2011 and Dillon Nelson, 2018) and three All-Region honorees (Kennedy 2011, Zach Dashner 2013, and Dillon Nelson 2015 & 2018) during his tenure at Manchester. He’s coached 18 All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selections in the defensive secondary. Since taking over defensive coordinator duties in 2013, Higginson has seen 31 different players earn All-HCAC recognition.
Manchester had three players garner All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition during the 2020-21 year in cornerback Jaquan Walker, linebacker Kobe Roberson, and defensvie end Jabari Webb.
In 2019, freshman linebacker Devontay Moore earned Second Team All-HCAC honors after leading the conference and ranking 11th in the nation with 11.0 sacks. Moore earned a nod on the D3football.com National Team of the Week during the 2020-21 season.
Prior to arriving North Manchester, Higginson spent two years as the graduate assistant coach at Division II Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. While with the Golden Knights, Higginson worked with the defensive backs and corners.
Higginson was a four-year starter at Kentucky Wesleyan as a free safety, where he was a D2football.com Honorable Mention All-American selection. He was also a two-year with the men's basketball program at KWC. Brad graduated in 2007 with a degree in computer information systems. In 2009, Higginson received a master's in public administration from Gannon University.
