Former Alma College of Michigan standout Justin Thelen joined the Manchester University football staff as a defensive backs coach in Feb. 2018.

Thelen, a two-time team captain, three-year team leadership council member and starter and all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honoree for the Scots in his playing days, was previously a defensive backs coach at Anderson University in 2017. Due to his work with that unit, the Ravens’ defense improved against the pass by 53.4 yards per game.

A two-time CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) all-district honoree, Thelen earned a Bachelor of Arts from Alma in April of 2017.
