Scotty Cole

Scotty Cole joined the Spartans' staff in June 2016. He works with the defensive backs.

Prior to arriving in North Manchester, Cole, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education from Alma in December 2012 and Master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University of Arizona in February 2015, served as a defensive backs coach/defensive pass game coordinator at fellow Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference institution Rose-Hulman from February 2015-June 2017. While in that slot, he mentored three all-region and eight all-HCAC honorees as well as helping lead a Fightin’ Engineers’ defense that topped the conference in fewest points allowed, pass efficiency defense, sacks, fewest first downs surrendered, fewest opposing fourth downs converted and best in the red zone a year ago among many accolades. Cole also served on the staffs at NCAA Division II power Grand Valley State University of Michigan from July 2013 – February 2015 as a defensive graduate assistant and video coordinator and Ithaca High School in Ithaca, Michigan in 2012.

On the field, he starred for the Scots during his collegiate career. He earned two all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors and was a team Most Valuable Player.
