Zach Metkler

Zach Metkler joined the Manchester football coaching staff in August 2023. The 2023 season will mark his first season on the Black and Gold sidelines.

Metkler came to North Manchester after serving as Director of Football Operations, Assistant Offensive Line Coach, Director of Player Personnel, NFL/Pro Scout Liaison, and Social Media Coordinator for the University of Rhode Island located in Kingston, RI. Metkler assisted with the Rams’ offensive line that featured three All-Coastal Athletic Association honorees and one Stats Perform All-America Third Team honoree.

Prior to coaching at the University of Rhode Island, Metkler spent the 2021 season with Allegheny College, where he coached both the defensive backs and the defensive line. Two of his athletes earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors.

In 2020, Metkler coached the running backs at Utica College. While there he also assisted with special teams, coordinating the special teams scout team in practices.

From 2018-20, Metkler was the offensive line and tight ends coach for Fox Chapel Area High School in Pittsburgh, Pa. In addition, he was the run game coordinator.

Metkler also worked with Pro Football Focus in Cincinnati as a player participation analyst for seven years. He is USAW-L1 Certified and has been a member of the American Football Coaches Association (ACFA) since 2021.

Metkler earned a bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College in 2017 as a double major in Neuroscience and Psychology (Pre-Med) with a minor in Global Health Studies. During his time at Alleghany, Metkler was a three-year member of the Gator football team where he was an offensive lineman, playing all five positions along the line.
