Austin Ervin

Coaching Bio Header - Biography 2

Austin Ervin was added to Head Coach Nate Conley's staff in May 2022.

During his first year on the Spartan bench, Ervin helped lead Manchester to a 16-9 regular season record, a 14-4 mark in league play and a share of the conference regular season title for the first time since 2020-11. Sophomore guard/forward Logan Willougby earned All-Conference First Team accolades, while teammates Bryant Smith (Second Team), Zach Sawyer (Second Team), Quentez Columbus (Hon. Mention) also earned All-HCAC recognition. Junior guard Ty Lynas was named to the HCAC All-Tournament team, earned Academic All-HCAC honors, and was also named to the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship Team. 

Ervin joined the Manchester sidelines after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Indiana-South Bend. During his time at IUSB, the Titans posted an overall record of 57-16 and appeared in back-to-back NAIA Tournaments. IUSB also won consecutive Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament titles while Ervin was with the program. During his time with the Titans, the IUSB program produced one NAIA All-American, one CCAC Defensive Player of the Year, one CCAC Newcomer of the Year, and 6 All-CCAC honorees. Coach Ervin helped the Titans earn their first-ever NAIA Tournament victory in 2021 - an 82-71 win over Rio Grande.

Ervin joined the Titans' coaching staff after being a two-sport NCAA Division I student-athlete at Central Michigan University. The St. Johns, Mich. native was a member of the Chippewa football and men’s basketball programs. Ervin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in sports management in May of 2019. As a member of the football program in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Ervin played mainly as a tight end from 2015-17 before switching to basketball.
