Mason Wood

Wood, who gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Southern Illinois University in May 2011 and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Henderson State University of Arkansas in December 2012, joined the Spartans' staff in August 2015. His work played a key role in the 2015-16 squad finishing .500 (13-13) and reaching the program's first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason tourney since 2011.

He previously served as an assistant at NCAA Division II Emporia State University of Kansas from August 2014-July 2015; assistant coach at NCAA Division III Trinity University of Texas from August 2013-May 2014 where he helped guide the Tigers to a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship; and as a graduate assistant at Henderson State from July 2011-December 2012. Wood, who served as head manager for SIU head coach Chris Lowery while gaining his bachelor degree (2007-11), was also on USA Basketball’s support staff for the June 2010 FIBA Americas tournament and was on the coaching staff for a Division II select squad in Brazil in July 2015.
