NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Freshman Spencer Thomas (Yorktown, Ind.) battled to a hard-fought two-set loss at number four singles, highlighting Manchester University's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference dual with Rose-Hulman Sunday, April 12.

Thomas rallied back from a 6-4 loss in the first set against the Fightin' Engineers Matt Conrad, forcing a tiebreaker in the second set due to a 6-6 tie. Conrad managed to keep Rose-Hulman's sheet clean with an 8-6 victory as part of a 9-0 R-H team win.

The Spartans (1-7 overall, 1-3 HCAC) resume a current five-dual homestand Thursday, April 16, welcome National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' member Bethel College of Indiana as part of a double-dual with the women's squad. First serve is 2:30 p.m.
