WARSAW, IND. – Sophomores Isaac Collis (Alexandria, Ind.) and Kyler Love (North Webster, Ind.) gained wins at number three and four singles, and the number three doubles' pairing of Love and fellow sophomore Garrett Bear (Indianapolis, Ind.) picked up a victory during Manchester University's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference dual against Franklin College Saturday, April 9.
Collis, moving to 2-4, and Love, upping record to 3-4 with his third straight decision, each rallied back from first set losses in singles play. Love opened the afternoon at the Warsaw Fitness and Tennis Center joining Bear to fend off the Grizzlies' Kyle Sauley and Dan Hicks 8-6 for the Black and Gold's first team point.
MU, dipping to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference with the 5-3 loss to their visitors, gets back to action in back-to-back home matches scheduled at their outdoor courts in North Manchester this coming week. They welcome Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member Adrian College Thursday, April 14, as part of a double-dual with the women's team, and HCAC foe Hanover College Saturday, April 16. First serve times are 11:30 a.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
