Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester women's basketball team dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game to Hanover College on Saturday January 5 by a final score of 84-53.
Hanover controlled play throughout Saturday's contest and shot 29-of-67 from the floor for 45.3 percent. The Panthers made six three-pointers and went 20-of-30 from the free throw line. HC also outrebounded the Spartans 47-35 on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers' full-court pressure forced MU into 25 turnovers on Saturday. The Spartans were held to 36.4 percent (20-55) shooting from the field. Manchester shot 4-of-14 from downtown and made 9-of-14 free throw attempts.
Both Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind. / North Central) and Bridget Nash (Carmel, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) finished in double figures with 10 points. Macy Miller (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) added nine points off the bench.
Hanover was paced by 21 points and 12 rebounds from Maleha Motter. Alexis Nall added 11 points and nice board.
MU fell to 2-11, 0-6 HCAC this season. Hanover kept pace atop the HCAC standings, moving to 5-1 in league play. Hanover also improved to 9-4 overall this season. The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday January 9 at home against Anderson. Tip from Stauffer-Wolfe Arena is slated for 7:30 p.m.
