ANGOLA, Ind. – Manchester and Trine competed in dual meet action on Thursday night in Trine's Hershey Hall.  The host Thunder narrowly edged the Spartans 23-18.

The Spartans found success in the lighter weight classes on Thursday.  Josh Stephenson (Yorktown, Ind. / Yorktown) earned a major decision over Dominic Pecoraro 17-7 at 133-pounds.  Jordan Napier (Indianapolis, Ind. / Perry Meridian) continued his outstanding season with a 12-9 decision over Caleb Maddox at 141-pounds.  JaVon Phillips (Centerville, Ind. / Centerville) earned a tech fall over Trine's Nevan Freestone at 149-pounds.  Joel Arney (Fort Wayne, Ind. Carroll) rounded out the MU scoring with a pin of Brandon Minear in the 157-wieght class.

Manchester will gear up for the 2019 Mid-States Invitational which will be held Saturday February 9 at Alma College in Michigan.
