Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester women's basketball team fell to the HCAC frontrunner Transylvania Pioneers by a final score of 87-35. Entering the contest, Transy was ranked 8th in the nation.
Senior captain Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) led the Spartans in scoring with eight points. Macy Miller (Huntertown, Ind./Carroll) chipped in seven points, and freshman Hannah Lindsey (Speedway, Ind/.Speedway) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Transylvaina's length on defense was difficult to break down as the Spartans shot just 15.1 percent (11-73) from the floor and 11.1 percent (4-36) from three-point terrirtory.
Transy was led by Shelby Boyle. She finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, both game-highs. Calynn Jackson finished with 13 points off the bench.
As a team, the Pioneers shot 51.6 (32-62) from field-goal range and 35.7 percent (10-28) from behind the arc.
The Spartans (8-15, 5-11 HCAC) will be back in action on Wednesday, February 19, versus conference foe Anderson University. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
Transylvania won their 19th consecutive game and improved to 22-1, 16-0 HCAC.
