Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Visiting Anderson University topped Manchester 55-39 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
Anderson used a 12-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters to seize control of Wednesday's game. The Ravens led by as much as 17 points following a jumper by Hanna Ault at the 2:28 mark of the fourth quarter.
Manchester struggled to capitalize on its offensive opportunities throughout Wednesday's game. MU finished 12-51 (23.5 percent) from the field and shot 5-21 (23.8 percent) from 3-point territory. The Spartans also finished 10-17 (58.8 percent) at the free throw line.
Anderson was held to 35.2 percent (19-54) shooting on Wednesday night, however, the Ravens finished 43 percent (6-14) from 3-point distance and shot 78.6 percent (11-14) from the charity stripe.
Payton Moore led Anderson with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Hanna Ault added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Senior Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) was the lone Spartan to score in double figures, finishing with 11 points. Hannah Lindsey (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Manchester (8-16, 5-12 HCAC) will host Earlham College on Saturday, February 22, beginning at 2 p.m. The Spartans will honor their senior class prior to tip with the Quakers.
Anderson improved to 10-14, 6-11 HCAC with the win. The Ravens will host Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon.
