DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Manchester University men's soccer team got back into the win column on Wednesday afternoon following a 3-0 road victory at Defiance College.
The Black & Gold pounced on the host Yellow Jackets, scoring all three goals of the match in the opening 12 minutes.
Sophomore
Harley Kruschwitz (Manchester, Ind./North Manchester) ignited the blitz, tallying his second hat trick of the season. Kruschwitz also netted a hat trick earlier this fall against Olivet College back on September 18. Harley scored goals in the 2
nd, 10th, and 12
th minutes against Defiance and now has 11 goals on the season.
Fellow sophomore
Chris Gerken (Huntertown, Ind./Carroll) collected an assist on the second Kruschwitz goal.
Manchester held a 14-11 advantage on shots taken in Wednesday's game. Spartan goalkeeper
Aidan Brunkow (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) kept a clean sheet while making four saves.
Manchester now stands 5-5-1, 2-1 HCAC on the season. The Black & Gold will travel to Hanover College on Saturday October 9 for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with the Panthers.
Defiance dropped to 7-7, 2-1 HCAC following the loss.
