NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester University volleyball team fell to visiting Bluffton University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday October 6.
The Beavers rallied from a two-sets-to-none deficit edging the Spartans in five sets. Bluffton took Wednesday's match by set scores of 16-25, 19-25, 25-21, 27-25, and 15-11.
Both
Halle Planck (Gas City, Ind./Mississinewa) and
Joy Maze (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood Community) led Manchester with 12 kills. Planck added a pair of solo blocks, a block assist, and seven digs.
Jordan Holland (Osceola, Ind./Mishawaka) posted 37 digs in the game, while a trio of Spartans reached double figures in digs –
Helaina Walter (Marion, Ind./Eastbrook) 16,
Sara Shultz (Churubusco, Ind./East Noble) 15, and
Rachael Ressler (Tipton, Ind,/.Tipton) 13.
The Black & Gold had 12 service aces in Wednesday's match.
Rachael Ressler led the way with five aces.
Manchester (8-9, 0-2 HCAC) will travel to Earlham College on Saturday October 9. Game time from Richmond is slated for 2 p.m.
Bluffton improved to 9-12, 1-1 HCAC with the win.
