LEXINGTON, Ky. - Manchester's women's soccer team played at Transylvania on Saturday in HCAC action. The Spartans were topped by the Pioneers 0-3.Â
The 1st half of the match was scoreless between the two sides. The Spartan defense held strong while facing 11 1st half shots.Â
All of the Pioneers goals came in the 2nd half however as they scored in the 51st, 57th, and 81st minute.Â
The Spartans offense had trouble getting going as they were only able to amass 4 shots on the afternoon. First-yearÂ
Layla Huneck (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider)accounted for 2 of the 4 shots, both of which were on goal. The Spartan defense was lead behind an impressive effort from goalkeeper
Bridget Nash (Carmel, Ind., Bishop Chatard) despite the loss.
Nash saved a new career high 12 shots in the match.Â
Manchester will return to the pitch this Wednesday as they host Rose-Hulman at Good Field. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.Â
