Spartans and Lions End in a Tie

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Black and Gold put up a hard-fought battle at Mount St. Joseph during HCAC play Saturday, October 15th. The Spartans and Lions ended the day in a tie.

Leading the way for MU was
Julian Keough (Indianapolis, Ind., Pike) with four shots on the day. Ruben Gonzalez (Sylvania, Ohio, Sylvania Northview) added three shots while Cory Mitchell (Maitland, Fla., Winter Park) and Kristoff Manni (Vandalia, Ohio, Vandalia Butler) each had two shots for the Spartans. First Year goalkeeper Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind., Kouts) earned a clean sheet with five saves. The Spartans now sit at 3-6-5 overall, 2-1-3 HCAC.

For the Lions, Luis Martinez Velez had four shots in the day, with Micheal Smith, Willis Johnson and Gilberto Quintero adding two shot each. MSJ is now 3-12-1 overall, 1-4-1 HCAC.

The Manchester University's men's soccer will host rival Anderson University in Spartan Stadium on Wednesday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. Following Wednesday's upcoming game, the Spartans will then host Earlham at Good Field on October 22nd before heading to Bluffton to round out the regular season.
