NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester men's & women's swimming and diving teams hosted Wilmington College at the Peabody-Strauss Aquatic Center on Saturday, November 12th. The Spartans honored their lone senior
Mackenzie Hoover (Tipton, Ind., Tipton) prior to Saturday's meet.
The Spartans went 0-2 on the day, falling short against Wilmington 135-76 on the men's side and 119-84 on the women's side.
For the men's team,
Colten Schulte (Huntington, Ind., Huntington North) took first in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 56.35, breaking Manchester's school record.
Schulte previously held the record in a time of 56.48. The men's 200 yard medley relay team consisting of Schulte,
Parker York (Roann, Ind., Manchester),
Michael DeBartolo (Elkhart, Ind., Concord), and
Hung Tran (Franklin Township, Ind., Franklin Central) placed first with a time of 1:44.03.
DeBartolo also took first place in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:08.72, good enough to make the school's all time top 10 list. In the men's 1 meter diving event,
Takoda Stone (Lakeville, Ind., Mishawaka) stone finished the day with 166.25 points.
For the women's team, MU took both first and second place in the 500 yard freestyle led by
Alix Oden (Markle, Ind., Norwell) who touched the wall in a time of 6:19.27 for first place. In the women's 1 meter diving event,
Rayann Nowacki (Lake Station, Ind., Thomas Edison) finished the day with 99.10 points.
The Spartans will compete again next weekend at the Wabash Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Manchester will compete on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with even time set for 9:00 a.m. for all 3 days.
