Five Spartans Place at Baldwin Wallace Invitational

BEREA, Ohio - The Manchester wrestling team competed in the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Saturday, November 19th. The Spartans finished the day with 24.5 team points, placing 8th out of 9 total teams.

James Bettcher (Lakeville, Ind., LaVille) finished 4th at 174 pounds. Bettcher drew a bye before loosing by fall in 0:43 against Luke Moore from Delaware Valley University. Bettcher would win his next three consolidation matches to take 4th place.

Ellisston Ross (Bloomington, Ind., Bloomington South) took 5th place in the 174 pound bracket. Ross also drew a bye before dropping his first match of the day to Lloyd from Baldwin Wallace. Ross would win three of his next four matches, including two in major decision to take 5th place.

A trio of Spartans finished the day in 8th place, including Alexander Searfoss (Granger, Ind., Penn)(8th, 197), Keagen Mabie (Mishawaka, Ind. , Mishawaka High School) (8th, 157), and Justin Brantley (Kokomo, Ind., Western) (8th, 125).

Manchester will now gear up to host the Little State Invitational on December 3rd. Event time in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena is set for 9:00 a.m.
