NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University wrestling team hosted the Little State Invitational in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena on Saturday, December 3rd. Over 130 athletes competed, including a number of MU student-athletes.

No team scores were kept on the day, but the Spartans continued to gain experience after the highly competitive event on Saturday. 

Alex Gronkiewicz (DeMotte, Ind., Kankakee Valley) picked up two wins at 184 pounds, winning by fall over Paul Martello from Thomas More before winning by fall over West Liberty's Marshall Whipkey. 

Justin Brantley (Kokomo, Ind., Western) won by major decision over Atticus Waddell from Wabash 10-0. 

Keagen Mabie (Mishawaka, Ind. , Mishawaka High School) won by fall over Thomas Mores' David Connor at 157 pounds. 

Zach Morgan (Albany, Ind., Delta) picked up a win on Saturday. Morgan won by fall over Wabash's Justin Hood. 

James Bettcher (Lakeville, Ind., LaVille) won by fall in his opening round over Jonathan Ibarra from Trine University. 

MU is scheduled to be back in action on Thursday, December 8th at Ancilla College. Event time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Spartans are then set to compete in the Kalahari Duals on Saturday, December 17th beginning at 9:00 a.m.
