DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Manchester University wrestling squad was in action on Wednesday night against both Mt. St. Joseph University and Defiance College in the HCAC Duals hosted at Defiance.

Senior Josh Stephenson (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) led Manchester against the Lions of Mt. St. Joseph with a 6-4 decision over Jack Cotsonas in the 133-lb. matchup.

Against Defiance, fellow senior Elijah Phillips (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) earned a 14-4 major decision over Brent Eicher in the 141-lb. matchup. Junior Devontay Moore (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) also earned a major decision victory against Defiance after topping Joey Perez 10-0 in the 184-lb. matchup. Payton Frye rounded out the scoring for Manchester against the Yellow Jackets after posting a 6-3 decision at 197-lbs.

The Spartans will conclude the 2021-22 season next weekend at NCAA Division III Central Region Championships hosted at Adrian College in Michigan on Friday and Saturday February 25-26.
