NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester University wrestling team celebrated its senior class of Joel Arney, Jeremiah Ford, Skyler Gomez, Elijah Phillips, and Josh Stephenson ahead of its dual match against Ancilla College on Tuesday night inside of Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

After the opening ceremonies were complete, both squads hit the mats. Josh Stephenson (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) got things started for Manchester with a major decision victory over Ancilla's Nelson Roberts, 15-6, at 141-lbs.

Elijah Phillips (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) followed with a pin of Hayden Casky in the 157-lb. weight class to put the Spartans ahead 16-6.

After the next two weight classes went the way of the Chargers, Devontay Moore (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) answered back for the Black & Gold in the 184-lb. bout. Moore pinned Patrick Adamczyk to earn six crucial team points for the Spartans.

After Ancilla earned a major decision victory at 197-lbs., the match rested on the final bout of the night, with Manchester holding a narrow 22-20 advantage.

Garrett Deaton (Danville, Ind./Danville) stepped up for Manchester in the heavyweight bout and sealed a 27-20 victory for the Spartans by pinning Graham Chapman.

Following tonight's dual victory, the Spartans are scheduled to compete at the Mid-States Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern, on Saturday February 12.
