Women's Tennis Take on the Fighting Engineers

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Spartan women traveled to play the Fighting Engineers on Wednesday in conference play.

In doubles action, Ella Knight (Leesburg, Ind., Kalamazoo) and Anna Hollingsworth (New Castle, Ind., Blue River Valley) posted an 8-5 win at the second position.

In singles play, the Spartans competed at each flight, despite not picking up a win. At 3 singles, Evelyn Minton (Clarksville, Ind., Jeffersonville) fought back after narrowly dropping the first set to force a match tiebreak, falling 5-7, 6-3, 7-10. Natalie Kotlin (Lowell, Ind., Lowell) won the first set, before also falling in a match tiebreak 6-4, 1-6, 2-10.

The Spartans will be back in action on Saturday at the MU Tennis Courts as they host Franklin College and Concordia University Ann Arbor. The match start times are 10 AM and 3 PM respectively.
