NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartan women's soccer team faced off against regional rival St. Francis today at Spartan Stadium. The Cougars best the Spartans 2-0 in the first matchup between the two programs.
St. Francis got going quickly as the Cougars scored an early first half goal in the 6
th minute. Manchester's defense responded well and kept the score at 1-0 at the half.Â
The physical battle continued on into the second half. Two yellow card warnings were issued during play. Despite the Spartans scrappy play the Cougars were able to seal the win with a final goal in the 83
rd minute.
The Spartans will be back in action this weekend on Sunday as they will travel to Auroa. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m. eastern time.Â
