NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester women's soccer team fell to the visiting Pioneers of Transylvania University on Saturday, September 30.
Transylvania struck first with a goal from Tara Pund in the 3rd minute of action. Abbey Rowe would go on to score two more goal for the Pioneers to take a 4-0 lead at halftime. Transylvania would score twice in the second half to secure the 6-0 win.
Offensively, the Spartans were led by
Grace Papazoglou (Commack, NY., Commack) and
Ruth Windeler (Grand Blanc, Mich., Goodrich) with one shot apiece.
Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos) had 7 saves in goal as the Pioneers took 19 shots on the day.
Manchester (1-8, 1-1 HCAC) will continue HCAC play on Wednesday, October 4 as they host the Franklin College Grizzlies. Match time at Good Field is set for 4:30 p.m.
