NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind.– The Manchester University women's soccer team honored its senior class prior to Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest against Mount St. Joseph University. The Spartans recognized Peyton Horn (Crown Point, Ind., Andrean), Sarah Woodle (Newnan, Ga., Northgate)), and Morgan Mauk (Toledo, Ohio, E.L. Bowsher) with an on-field ceremony at Good Field.
Once the game began, it was the visiting Lions who played the spoiler on Saturday afternoon. Mount St. Joseph netted three goals during Saturday's contest and its defense managed to keep the Spartans off of the scoreboard en route to a 3-0 victory.
Kerigan Pollard scored two of Mount St. Joseph's goals in the 12th and 70th minutes. Bailey Dotson added the Lions' third goal of the match in the 85th minute.
Grace Papazoglou (Commack, NY., Commack) took three shots, while Elaina Halferty (Columbia City, Ind., Eagle Tech Academy) had two shots land on goal for the Black and Gold.
Manchester women's soccer will cap off its 2023 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 25, when the Spartans travel to Bluffton University to take on the Beavers in HCAC action. Match time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
