NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University volleyball team hosted the nationally ranked Mount St. Joseph Lions on Stauffer-Wolfe Arena on Saturday, October 28. The volleyball program took a moment to recognize its senior class,
Allison Miller (Akron, Ind., Tippecanoe Valley), Brielle Schultz (Decatur, Ind., Adams Central), Jordan Holland (Osceola, Ind., Mishawaka), and Joy Maze (Greenwood, Ind., Greenwood Community) prior to the start of Saturday's match against the Lions.
The Spartans fell in their last regular season home match by a final score of 3-0. The Lions took the match by set scores of 25-20, 25-9, and 25-22.
Jessica Tarr (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider) and
Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind., Belmont) led the Black and Gold with seven kills apiece on Saturday.
Joy Maze contributed six kills and nine digs.
Emma Tone (Fort Wayne, Ind., Bishop Dwenger) had 10 assists on the afternoon, while
Alexa Kouskousakis (Rochester, Ind., Rochester Community) and
Falyn McPeek (Rock City, Ill., Dakota) added five apiece for the Spartans.
McPeek also had a team high five aces on Saturday.
Defensively,
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) slowed the Lions attack with 3 total blocks.
Tiffany Watterson (Elkhart, Ind., Elkhart) had 11 digs on the night.
Manchester has two games remaining in the regular season, both of which will be played on the road. On Wednesday, November 1, the Spartans will travel to Anderson University for a 7:00 p.m. meeting with the Ravens. The Spartans will conclude the 2023 regular season with a road trip to #16Transylaniva University on Saturday, November 4.
