NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University volleyball team swept the Defiance College Yellow Jackets in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena on Saturday, October 7.
The Spartans took Saturday's match by set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-15.
As a team, the Spartans hit .292 with 46 kills during Saturday's contest. Manchester was led by
Joy Maze (Greenwood, Ind., Greenwood Community) with 14 kills on the night.
Jessica Tarr (Fort Wayne, Ind., Snider) had 12 kills with a .476 hitting percentage.
Emma Tone (Fort Wayne, Ind., Bishop Dwenger) led the team with 15 assists.
Alexa Kouskousakis (Rochester, Ind., Rochester Community) contributed a team high four aces and 14 assists during the match.
Defensively, the Spartans were led by
Tiffany Watterson (Elkhart, Ind., Elkhart) with 17 digs and
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) with three block assists.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets hit just .107 with 26 kills. Shelby Clements led Defiance with 11 kills, while Emma
Chafins collected 13 digs.
The Spartans improved to 12-6 overall, 2-1 in
HCAC play. Up next, Manchester will travel to Hanover College on October 13. Match time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Hanover, Ind.
