SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Manchester Spartans swam to a dual meet split on the road against the Wittenberg University Tigers on Friday, December 8.

The men earned their third dual meet win of the season after defeating the Tigers 130-69. The team beat Wittenberg following eight first-place finishes:

• 200-yard medley relay - Logan Davis, Jaden Chin Hong, Michael DeBartolo, Conner Shannon - 1:47.69
• 200-yard freestyle - Colten Schulte - 1:52.52
• 50-yard freestyle - Payton Elsrod - 23.49
• 1 meter diving - Takoda Stone - 184.00
• 100-yard butterfly - Michael DeBartolo - 57.62
• 100-yard backstroke - Colten Schulte - 57.02
• 500-yard freestyle - Michael DeBartolo - 5:22.00
• 3 meter diving - Takoda Stone - 183.80

The Spartan women finished the day with 95 points to Wittenberg's 112 points. Manchester junior Elaina Halferty (Columbia City, Ind., Eagle Tech Academy) set a new school record in the 3 meter diving event after finishing the event with 124.65 points after six dives. The women's team also had three first-place finishes on the day:

• 1,000-yard freestyle - Rachel Fedor - 14:24.11
• 50-yard freestyle - Stephanie Roman - 26.41
• 100-yard backstroke - Eamin Lynch - 1:05.11

Up next, Manchester swimming and diving will open the new year at the Illinois Tech Tri-Meet on January 13.
