NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester women's basketball team was bested by the nationally ranked Pioneers of Transylvania University in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena by a final score of 83-43 on Saturday, December 9.
The Spartans hung tight to start Saturday afternoon's game, but the Pioneers' size inside and strong three-point shooting pushed Transylvania to a 45-24 lead at the half.
In the second half, Transylvania's defense held the Spartans to 19 points en route to an 83-43 victory.
Hailee Kline (Huntington, Ind., Blackhawk Christian),
Mia Shields (Arcadia, Ind., Hamilton Heights), and
Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos) led the Spartans in scoring with six points apiece.
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) had a team-high five rebounds, while
Kendal Rider (Otterbein, Ind., Lafayette Central Catholic) collected three assists.
Transylvania improves to 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in the HCAC. Manchester falls to 3-5 on the season and 0-3 in the HCAC.
