TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Manchester University swimming and diving teams competed in day one of the 2023 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, February 8. 

The men's 800 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Logan Davis (Elkhart, Ind., Elkhart), Michael DeBartolo (Elkhart, Ind., Concord), Payton Elsrod (Centerville, Ind., Centerville), Spencer Harrison (Tipton, Ind., Tipton) finished in fifth place and broke a Manchester school record with a time of 7:30.68. 

Davis also set a new school record in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.74 in the lead off leg of the 800 yard freestyle relay. 

The women's 800 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Alix Oden (Markle, Ind., Norwell), Alexis Ferguson (Franklin, Ind., Franklin Community), Rachel Fedor (Wingate, Ind., North Montgomery), Megan Pierce (Bloomington, Ind., Edgewood) also took fifth place with a time of 9:38.14.
