ANGOLA, Ind. - The Manchester women's tennis team took on Trine today in non-conference action on Tuesday, March 14. The Spartans lost 9-0 to the Thunder.
In doubles action,
Eva Bazzoni (Wabash, Ind., Manchester) and
Evelyn Minton (Clarksville, Ind., Jeffersonville) put up a hard fought battle at no. 1 doubles, capturing four games but ultimately falling to Bekah Trent and Elina Locane. At no. 2 doubles,
Natalie Kotlin (Lowell, Ind., Lowell) and
Avin Demaso (South Bend, Ind., Riley) fell to their opponents 8-2. The no. 3 doubles pair of
Heather Binion (Lebanon, Ind., Lebanon) and
Lindsay Schweisberger fell 8-1 to their opponents.
Bazzoni battled at no. 1 singles, falling 6-3, 6-2 to Eva Morales.
Minton followed at no. 2 singles, dropping her match 6-3, 6-0. At the no. 3 position,
Kotlin fell to Elina Locane 6-1, 6-0.
Demaso,
Binion, and
Schweisberger all fell 6-0, 6-0 at no. 4, 5, and 6 singles, respectively.
The Spartans will conclude their season on Tuesday, April 11 against the Bethel University Pilots. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m. in Mishawaka, Ind.
